We have around fifty students graduating this semester, and hope to have the first-destination information to report in the future. Since we are a fairly new program (this is only our second year as an undergraduate program) we only have 13 students who have graduated with our degree, so we do not have the placement percentages we are able to report from a high enough sample.

(Asked in Advance) Could you please provide any information about past placement percentages or opportunities that past students were able to take up after graduation from BS/IS. We will be adding a new degree officially next semester called Information Science + Data Science (which has some minor differences and additional Data requirements). Many students have mentioned our major growing in popular RSO (Registered Student Organizations) across campus that align with our areas of focus such as Design Clubs, Consulting & Business Clubs, Data/Tech related orgs, and entreprenership related organizations. This allows for students to work within groups for projects, end up taking similar academic plans and courses, and seeing each other in our building during common study times. Many of our classes are smaller in size (ranging from 20-40 students depending on the class). We currently have over 300 undergraduates in our major and around 50 students are graduating this Spring. We are growing quickly as an academic unit and with our undergraduate program. (Asked in Advanced) The ischool has only one degree, and is a smaller community than other colleges at uiuc, would you say that the ischool community more closely knitted than other academic communities on campus?
